What’s with the name?

A lot of people have asked me why I chose “Kalia Lily” for my company name so I thought I would let everyone know about the “Lily” part.  I chose to include the name Lily in honor of my great-aunt Lily.  My great-aunt has always been such a special person to me.  When I was little, I would sleep over at her house and we would bake together, and then she would curl my hair and let me stay up until 3am.  She never misses an opportunity to show us love even though she lives in Bulgaria.  So when it came time to pick a company name, I really wanted to keep things personal.  You know how people say, “It’s not personal, it’s business,” well I think that business should be personal!!!  I want to have a personal approach to business.  I want to take time to get to know my clients and I want to be surrounded by things that inspire me.

25

May 3rd is my birthday! I turned 25…25 is old! Well not really, but it’s a quarter of a century.  1/4 of a 100.  I guess it’s really weird for me because I still feel like I’m in high school.  I still can’t even believe I’m a wife and every day someone tells me that I should think about being a mother too.  It’s a little overwhelming sometimes.  On a positive note, it has really given me a chance to think about life and make some resolutions.  (I recently read about goal setting.) So I wrote “25 for 25,” it’s twenty five resolutions for my year.  I’m not going to go through all of them, but here are some:

- teach Brendan Bulgarian and re-learn french (my strategy is to watch movies in french)

- renovate the kitchen (with A LOT of help from Brendan) but I love that kinda stuff so it will be fun.

- pray more and share my faith more

- keep life simple.  Learn to be happy with a little, and be thankful in everything!

- stay in touch with my family in Bulgaria.  I really miss them.

So these are just a few from “25 for 25″ so keep me accountable people!

Love,

Kal
