We almost burnt the couch up…

I decided to stop at GNC on my way home and buy one of those 100% bees wax ear funnel sets.  You put the funnel in our ear and light the other end on fire.  And TA DA like magic is cleans your ears out!  Brendan offered to help me so that I wouldn’t burn myself.  (And I had a plastic plate around the funnel so that the embers wouldn’t fall on me)

Well, everything was going according to plan until Brendan reached over to cut the top of the funnel  that was already burnt.  The next thing I know he says “That’s not good!” and I see something flickering out of the corner of my eye.  “What!!!!” I say in a panic!  Then I feel the warmth of the flames right by my cheek!  The next couple of seconds where sort of a blur as I trashed around trying to get the burning wax embers off of my hair and body!!! My brain said STOP DROP AND ROLL but it wasn’t necessary.

Well luckily I survived with only a few hairs getting burnt off my head, but our poor couch wasn’t so lucky!  We damaged one of the cushions.

Brendan and I just looked at one another.  I was thinking “you really blew it!” and I could tell that he was thinking the exact same thing about me!

Get these sweet things from GNC!  They make your ears sing!!! Just be careful…

Merci!

I just want to say THANK YOU! So many super kind people have been writing me to say that they love the new website.  You guys have all encouraged me so much with your words.

So much of my heart goes into photography and I would do this even if no one knew, but it’s definitely nice to know that people enjoy the work.

To me business is so personal…so I want to personally thank you all :)
Love,

Kara and Brent- The Urban Shoot

As soon as Kara and Brent stepped out of their car I got very excited!  Kara looked stunning and her make-up was super fierce.  They weren’t matchy-matchy, just complemented eachother’s outfits with a sort-of effortless chic.

I took Senior pictures of Kara two years ago so I knew that she was going to be comfortable and do amazing, but I had no idea Brent was going to be so chill.  Put them together and…well let’s just say I have a lot of favorites.

More pics coming real soon…like tonight soon!

Cuties

Today Marc and Brenda and the kids braved Tropical Storm Fay for some photos.  Katelyn and Sarah were cracking us up so much!!! Katelyn really wanted to pose and look at her picture after I took it.  Sarah was a rebel and kept running away.  Luke is just the happiest baby ever.  I can’t wait to share some pics, I’ll try to add funny ones!

The little series of Katelyn is my favorite (especially the first photo, she’s a little model)

I was laughing so hard at this point!  Luke was pulling Katelyn’s hair but she was trying so hard to keep smiling.  When the photo was done, Brenda pulling a little clumb of Kate’s hair out of his hand!

When Sarah was done, she just chilled with Brendan, bobbing her head to the music.

Isn’t Luke so cute!

Doesn’t this photo just SCREAM “I’M DONE!!!”

The New kalialily.com !!!!

I’m very, very, very excited to announce that the new website is finished!  I will be updating the new site regularly so check in with me when you get a chance!

Now I’m going to reward myself with some Olympic coverage. Bye Bye

Just a few trip pics!

Here are a few pics from the recent trip we took up the east coast.  It was a wonderful trip- the weather was beautiful, the sights were beautiful, the food was a thing of beauty (I STUFFED myself!)

While driving through Vermont, we noticed this waterfall right off the highway.  Brendan was just casually walking through the water so I decided to join him.

We loved Boston!  We’ve been there before but for a very brief time, so it was really nice to really explore a little more.

We did a lot of walking.

Quebec City is like Europe in Canada.  A little food trivial: One of Quebec’s signiture dishes is French Fries covered in gravy, sprinkled with cheese.  (It might sound weird, but it’s soooo tasty) Plus you can make it at home.

As I mentioned before, I ate a lot.  This tarte ended up in my stomach in Montreal.

At Chad and Misty’s we wrote down dinner ideas.  There was a couple of funny ones.

The sweetest DD ever (in Boston)

The craziness of New York.

#1 We went to Starbucks so many times on this trip.

#2 In this particular Starbucks, Brendan was commenting on how busy everyone in New York looks all the time.  So he walked around the store pretending to talk on his cell phone yelling “sell my stock!” and here he is pretending to text someone.

This is Notre Dame (Montreal).

Phelps Phans!

Brendan and I just woke up the neighborhood cheering for the American 4×100 Relay!  AHH! I love love the Olympics!!!!

My dad and I! My dad was a swimmer on the Bulgarian National Team and he taught me how to swim.

Training for the Olympics!
